What is the bug or the crash?

When the system switches to Dark Mode while one is using the default UI theme, the text in the panels remains black, on a dark gray background, making it unreadable.

The issue does not persist when restarting QGIS.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Start with the System Settings in Light Mode. On a Mac Ventura: Go to System Settings > Appearanceand click Light.
  2. Start QGIS using the default UI theme. If not already enabled, go to Preferences... > General > UI Theme and select default, then restart QGIS.
  3. Switch System Settings to Dark Mode by going to System Settings > Appearanceand clicking Dark.
  4. The QGIS UI should now look like this: Screenshot 2023-06-18 at 8 48 31 PM

I have the same problem on Linux with Gnome, so it isn't macOS specific
