1 year ago https://qgis.org/pyqgis/master_PR115/search.html?q=vector&check_keywords=yes&area=default shows that #109 is still fixed without the js file so let's remove it also. IOW adding the sphinxcontrib.jquery extension was the proper fix.
Same as #114, one more step to try to reduce unnecessary changes #111 could have introduced
