what's the difference between the "NCyc_100_2019Jul" and "NCyc_100.faa"? #20

As mentioned in the title, I want to annotate the N genes in some MAGs, if I can use the ORF predicted from prodigal? And I want to know the difference between the two databases. Before use, are they must be unzipped?

  1. "NCyc_100_2019Jul" fixed a few potential mistakes in "NCyc_100.faa", please use "NCyc_100_2019Jul" for better accuracy.

  2. Yes, in order to find N-cycling genes in MAGs, ORFs should be used.

  4. Yes, they should be unzipped, because github do not support large files.
