What do you mean? 

That libwebp through git from http://git.chromium.org/webm/libwebp.git should 
work now? Did it previously not? I was hoping for a stable release...

Note that v0.1.99 (that is, v0.2.0 pre-release) was released 11 days ago. The 
code tree is in branch "0.2.0":
https://gerrit.chromium.org/gerrit/gitweb?p=webm/libwebp.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/h
eads/0.2.0

The plan is to release v0.2.0 by end-of-week (in the same Gerrit branch).

Once we add the tag "0.2.0", Chromium can take that as a stable release of WebP.
