Along with this PR we should update the list of required CI checks because this changes one MacOS job from running Python 3.10 to 3.11

I have now updated the branch protection rules for main to the new Python version on MacOS. Once we release 0.2 and that becomes the stable branch, we will need to do the same there :+1:
