Robot Framework for automation of flex object embedded inside HTML? #215

Hi,

I am trying to find a tool for automation of flex based web application based
on HTML. Application i need to automate has a Flex component which is a SWF
file embedded inside the HTML code. This flex application i am trying to
automate works only on INTERNET EXPLORER (we have IE v8 for now) only as it is
meant for agents and internal users of my company and we launch it in a
differnet domain.

Can you please let me know if flex library of Robot framework will work for
automating this application? I have looked at FlexUISelenium,
FlexMonkium/FlexMonkey already. Is there any particular tool you would
recommend for automation of flex based web apps for IE? We use Flex Builder
version 3.x.

Thanks so much in advance!

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask the question as i see it is more of
a issue tracking place. I didnt find any other place on the wiki to post my
question.

Missed to mention one thing that....As its a IE specific app i am fine if i
dont get to use IDE which is how Flex-Pilot works mostly...i will be happy to
write scripts myself similar to how we do using Selenium RC. I just need to
find a workable solution to automate my flex application.

SeleniumLibrary already has some support for testing Flex applications. See
http://code.google.com/p/robotframework-seleniumlibrary/wiki/FlexTesting for
more information. We have tested the support with both Flex3 and Flex3 SDKs.
