Stable branch #52

Is the Stable branch still stable? It is many commits behind, and some ahead(?). Is somebody using it? How could we keep track in a better way?

Before major branch merges, the master has been turned into a new stable. However, we should find a more sophisticated method of handling this.

Since we are actively developing also during use of the software, the stable branch has been neglected and is no longer representative. Is anyone here actively using it for measurements?

If nobody does so, I suggest deleting it for now as it might be misleading for people not actively participating in the development.
