fix #30: handle index.html route #31

redirect /index.html to /
trim whitespace in search controller

This appears to work correctly - in our testing environment I go to http://localhost/transport/projects/project-map/index.html or http://localhost/transport/projects/project-map and it's automatically redirected to http://localhost/transport/projects/project-map/.

Searching and hitting the Back button doesn't break it either. Thanks!
