Followup to #464 - turns out the version checking is stricter than I thought, and avrdude fails to run in the current beta because the config file is newer than it.
No update to the macOS binary is needed as the last batch of flasher updates already bumped it to 7.3 (#449) whereas on Windows it was only 7.0 (#448) as those were the latest versions in Homebrew and MSYS respectively.
