I just tried another shpooing list application,
http://www.appbrain.com/app/de.vodafone.android.shoppinglist

It has a nice feature that it can save the order you have checked items when
shopping and remember it for later. Next time you go shopping it can sort the
items based on the order you checked the items last time.

I tried it on release 1.6, and I think this functionality already exists.
Therefore status should be changed for this issue.

Where do you see this functionality in release 1.6? Please elaborate.

In release 1.6, as mentioned, if I check a particular sort order for my list,
and then terminate the application. then, next time while opening the
application, list was sorted by that checked order.
If I am somehow not understanding the requirements of issue, please correct me.

That is not really what I was asking for. What I wanted was:

I have my list with:

milk
butter
bread
candy

added in that order. At the shop I tick bread first, then candy, then milk and
finally butter. Next time I should go shopping I (re)create my list and add
butter, candy, milk and apples (in that order). The list will then
automatically be sorted in the order I ticked the items last time i was
shopping and with the new items at the bottom, i.e:

candy
milk
butter
apples

Hope it makes it clearer?
