after hierarchy, where is the module's docstring? #48

after introducing a hierarchy for modules like devices (see issue #31 and PR #38), the docstring explainign what the module contains does not exist anymore. Would still be a good thing to have the option to document the module.

I think this is resolved now by #49. If not feel free to reopen.
