[1.16.5] Weird visual glitch around lava Optifine #226

Open HockeyZman2000 opened 3 years ago

Whenever going through a portal with Optifine installed (even without any shaders) the game will appear to freeze and the screen will become distorted and flicker after around 5-10 seconds. This only happens when moving to another dimension from the Overworld. Works fine going back to the Overworld immediately after relogging. The game won't crash, but instead will refuse any player input and forces the player to end Minecraft via task manager. Upon logging back into the world, the player has about a 10 to 20 second window to get back through the portal before the game freezes and flickers again.

I've tried updated my drivers to the latest versions, different IP versions, and different Optifine versions to no avail as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I also tested it with G6, G8 Pre1, Pre2, Pre3, & OptiForge.

All versions crashed, I also tried the older versions of Immersive Portals with the above versions of optifine and it all had the same result.

Just made an interesting discovery regarding this problem. The issue only arises when in the Nether dimension near a portal that is also nearby a large lava lake (within like 3 or 4 blocks from the surface). Made many different portals in different locations. All worked fine until a portal near a big lava lake was activated, then the visual glitch occurs and I have to force stop the java application.
