I wonder if someone have an update for quadra and make it work with windows 7?

pphaneuf commented 10 years ago

It doesn't work on Windows 7? What's the behaviour? I do have a Windows 7 partition nowadays (to play Modern Warfare 2!), but I'm not sure if it's big enough to load Visual Studio on it...

pphaneuf commented 10 years ago

It's problem with the colors. To play works but it's not the same. I attach a printscreen so u can see.

I have talked to a couple of my old quadra friends and all players using win 7 got the same problem.

Hopefully it's just an easy fix?

pphaneuf. have you find something?

pphaneuf commented 10 years ago

Isn't there a checkbox in the properties of a program in Windows 7 for various compatibility modes? Did you try those?

pphaneuf commented 10 years ago

Yes but it doesnt work. I have tried a couples of compability modes but i get the same result.

Hopefully u figure something out ;)

Compiling svn with the Visual C++ SDL project fixes this issue.

pphaneuf commented 10 years ago

I had the same color issue with win7 32-bit and Quadra 1.2.0

I was able to fix it by following the instructions here: http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/100379-how-i-fixed-corrupt-color-palette-some-old-games-windows-7-a.html

The link to download the program to fix this issue at sevenforums.com is broken.

The new link is http://www.mudlord.info/crap/re/tools/w7ddpatcher-withsource.zip and it works. I just tested it on Win 7 x64 Pro
