FreeBSD ports package #30

Would someone be interested in doing a port of Q for FreeBSD? I have tried to install the linux binary (when enabling linux compability) but no can do... and the make is too complicated for a newbie coder like me to edit (:. Surely there is some freak out there who's willing to give it a try? :p

There were a few more comments, but I don't think this would still be relevant today. Basically, he tried to brandelf the binaries (he thinks, wasn't sure), then it segfaulted when he tried to run it. Nowadays, especially the quadra-sdl branch, it should Just Work (tm) on FreeBSD (Mac OS X is a relative of FreeBSD, and it works there)...

The request for a FreeBSD port is still valid, though.

Hello Pierre,

today I have ported the current version of your quadra game to FreeBSD.

There are only 2 little patches required for quadra 1.2.0. :-)

The ported game works fine, but only the sound system is not working:

Can I hope of your support or some little hints to find the failure.

In case of success I will try to add this very nice and funny game to the official ports tree of freebsd.

You ported 1.2? I wouldn't even give it a try on FreeBSD, really! :-)

The code in trunk should probably work just fine, including sound, I hope.

What are those two little patches, by the way?

Hello Pierre,

now it's done. Here are the patches for the trunk version (r757). It is possible to release the current version in the near future or can you provide a development snapshot as tarball on your download server? This makes it easier for me to create the requested port for FreeBSD.
