"Total" view #166

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When I switch an existing data set to reflect the "total" option it does not 
show the total. For example, I have 3 items reflected on the timeline view but 
on total it says 0. and I have checked that it is the correct timespan 
reflected for "all"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Since this is a private account, we can't inspect this any further… if you 
would like to email screenshots of the relevant display settings and the 
entries that should be included, we can inspect this issue further.
