Panel's don't update (are they on a cron or something?) #75

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

I've been editing my panels here...

http://daytum.com/dpstyles/data

... and it seems to be working fine. But when I got to view my newly
edited panels here...

http://daytum.com/dpstyles

... I keep seeing my old ones (which have since been deleted). I'm thinking
that maybe you guys run a cron that updates the panels once an hour maybe..
which is fine, but if that's the case, please let me know about the delay
in between editing and displaying. (right now it just feels broken).

Thanks!

There's no delay to the update... I think your displays are tied to old or
non-existent data-sets perhaps?

If you click the options link on the top left of each display panel, you can
edit which data-set is being displayed
with that panel. Tinker with it, and let me know if the problem persists.

Okay, got it... but it seems really weird that I define these data sets (e.g.
"days
snowboarding") and then have to (a) go into an old "days surfing" panel, (b)
select a
new dataset for this panel and then (c) manually got an rename the title of the
panel
from "days surfing" to "days snowboarding".

(is this just because these are old data sets from this summer running on some
new
code that was written, or is this always the user-experience for adding new
datasets?)

Actually, deleting a data set can take several minutes in some cases, which
could lead to your surprise at re-
encountering them after they have been "deleted"... because this is also a
resource-intensive task, we are
working on a means to improve your experience and lessen the burden on the
server. - Nicholas.
