Open Source #93

You're using Google Code, yet your project isn't open source. The front page on
Google Code says
that your source is released under the Apache license, yet I can't find it.

Is this project, indeed, open source?

I'm afraid that this project is not open source.

I thought part of the TOS of Google Code was that it was specifically for Open
Source projects.

I guess I was wrong. Could you at lest change the licensing data on the
"Project Home" of this wiki?

Hmmm. I can't find any limitation like that in the TOS, but then it isn't
possible to use a non-open-source
license in the description.

Have you considered GitHub? It has non-open-source packages. Though it costs a
little money if your project
*isn't* open source.

Git's better than SVN anyway d-:

We actually use github as our repository - it's great.

In looking for a good way to track bugs and handle feature requests, GoogleCode
seemed to be the best bet, and
has been working really well to that extent. - Nicholas.

Ah, cool. Just followed you, even though you have no public code there.

You might want to check out pivotaltracker.com or tenderapp.com incase Google
doesn't cut it, but I expect
you're fine.

Cool tool, I have to say! Just waiting for an API, so I can have my computer
track all these crazy data for me. d-:

I just stumbled upon this issue whilst searching for some information on
Daytum. Google's FAQs for Google Code
state that it is for Open Source projects only, so I'm not sure why their TOS
wouldn't.

http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/FAQ

"Are there any restrictions on who can use the site?

Just a couple. You'll need to be in a country where Google is able to conduct
business, and your project needs to be
open source."

Just thought I'd let you know.

Cheers.
