*images with lots of text need that text in caption #13

A. Items which MUST be addressed to meet Ontario accessibility standards

  1. Images with a lot of text (e.g. email exchange), should either have that text in the caption, or (preferred) be rendered as text. (She said the word document cross-outs figure is probably okay if described).

I assume this should say "'have that text in the alt.text", yes? Not the caption (that would look stupid, and make people read the same thing twice).

In the alt.text I repeated the text if it was short, or mentioned the main points that the screenshots get across. The screenshots convey that these are real examples, and make it a bit more interesting I think, so are retained (plus some are things like directory contents and Git error messages, so not simple text).

So the caption is the preferred location for lots of text. Alt is used for brief descriptions of visual content
