Currently, there are 39 apps which all need at least one screenshot.

you might want to standardize the way you are taking those screenshots (ie: limiting the space around the window and ensuring that is plays nicely with quassy's page background)

I would recommend to use the screenshot tool that comes with freya: it has a current window mode that includes the nice looking shadows. Just pick a solid background color (white?) while doing the screenshots and you'll be set.

choyan commented 9 years ago

@PerfectCarl, thats a good idea. Some of the screenshots were collected from G+ also. So, i snapped them also randomly. I will keep that in mind :)

PerfectCarl commented 9 years ago

@choyan I understand. I feel like the only proper way to do this is to bite the bullet: install the app and do the screenshot (and leave a note "works on freya/luna").

I might contribute some screenshots in the near future.

PerfectCarl commented 9 years ago

But it would be nice that @quassy submit one screenshot or two so we can have an idea of what he intends to do in that area.

I'm partial to something simple (using the default settings of a widely popular screenshot app)

Here's a sample

Thanks for posting these @choyan, but I agree with @PerfectCarl that the screenshots should be standardized - so the last ones are good!

I'm not sure yet how exactly the screenshots will be incorporated (especially if there is more than one) so I am open for suggestions. For most apps the window-only screenshot should be the best, no need to repeat the same desktop over and over again. Exceptions would be apps where interaction with the desktop environment is vital, e.g. Indicators.

Just pick a solid background color (white?) while doing the screenshots and you'll be set.

As I might tweak the design in the future no / transparent background would be the best.

quassy commented 9 years ago

Keeping it simple & stupid for now. (Might not work very well with big screenshots like Envelope.)

kennyh7279 commented 9 years ago

@quassy do you have a list of items that still need screenshots?

quassy commented 9 years ago

Basically every app that is not in /img/screenshots or /img/windows :D

But I can make a list to make things easier.

I can't start RadioTray right after I installed it and I found some unmet dependencies when I tried installing Indicator Terminal.

Sorry for the duplicates, I basically screenshoted every third-party elementary app that I have installed. I used Alt+PrScr to take them, if there's some other more preferred way, feel free to let me know.

quassy commented 9 years ago

Thanks, edited and uploaded :). There is not really a preferred way, if the whole window is in the screenshot it's fine (I cut them at the borders)

Screenshots for the following apps are stil missing, contributions would be welcome, though most of them are probably abandoned.
