Some comments: actually Gumbel statistics is a well defined distribution with given pdf formula. Such dist. are naturally emerging from the extrem value statistics of i.i.d random variables. The distribution form is asymmetric on both ends and in strong contrast with Gaussian distributions. Such dist. are everywhere in physics, and one might need some arguments for its occurrence in each case.
