Enable remote control via configurable midi messages #105

Open berry120 opened 5 years ago

berry120 commented 5 years ago

Some other projection packages have the ability to enable remote control via configurable midi messages - these messages could be sent by other mobile apps (such as OnSong) or hardware (such as foot pedals for advancing to the next section of a song.) This would be a nice-to-have in Quelea.

Note this isn't a high priority at the moment, so please vote for this issue if you'd like to see this implemented.

I would like to bring back the issue about MIDI control again. Not only midi but OSC messages. Could we define a set of actions like: Next Slide, Previous Slide, Next Song Previous Song, Go to Song #, and the 3 screen buttons, go live. In a simple pannel, the user inputs a MIDI or OCS IP device. Then the list of actions where he can custom type the(having predefined would be good too) the midi midi OCS values. Upon trigger the the action is called with the relevant function.

Why is this valuable, automation as with reaper on Ableton live. People these days use a lot of backing tracks, so in this case a single musician can use a foot pedal to advance marker in say reaper that will trigger instrument changes and that in turn will trigger slide changes and chord changes on his stage view.
