Hi I am from the bilingual church. Our worship lyrics always request for two languages. One is Chinese and the second is English. I had attached the screenshot (the slide is done by powerpoint). we need the functions that can adjust the font size for different languages.

there is two options can do it.

  1. manual adjust
  2. create the function for translation. if the function on, add new song will create two columns. One column is for main language lyrics and another column is for the translation. In the "option", we can set the font size for language 1 and 2. The main lyric will automatically pair with the translation based on the line or paragraph. (may refer to easislides which called region one and region two)

Hello onlinejane,

Quelea already has translation language functionality, see screenshots below. However, it is not possible yet to change the font size. Reference:

Regards and blessings,

thanks,DeeTigIT. thanks for this powerful software. Is it able to change the font size for the translation? In your suggestion, we can download the font size smaller than the default. But in Chinese Character is different from the English word. As you see the example, the length of one English word is longer than 1 character Chinese character. and the Chinese Character always the same size, but the length of the English word is changeable.

Thus, when the system fixed the English word, the Chinese character will become smaller.

Furthermore, how can I change the translation color?

This is capture in Quelea preview. Capture

This is what i wanted image

Your credits, and also our credits, are for the developers of Quelea.

In the Quelea Discourse item (https://quelea.discourse.group/t/change-font-size-of-translations/237/3), Arvid mentions the following:

No problem! You can always change the appearance of the translation, e.g. color or font (and I suppose you could theoretically download a font with smaller characters than default and that way make the translation smaller). In case it would be a problem for you, feel free to open that issue on GitHub.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried with the impact font or franklin Gothic font type. However, the font size of the English translation still bigger than the main lyrics. I checked the font option, it shows me the system. It seems that Quelea doesn't support the font type?

Is it possible to add the % option beside the translation font option? It will automatically set the font type base on user choice instead of the default size. For example, if I decide 50%, it means that the translation font size will be 50% smaller than the Main lyric.

  1. May I know what type of font does Quelea support? I imported several font types, but the system did not show me font results, especially Chinese font.

Is it possible for you to teach me how to modify the coding in Quelea to change the translation font size? I am willing to change it manually via coding if you are able to give me the instruction.
