I think it would be great if the README could clarify the relations with other similar projects. It's currently hard to know if one should use this plugin or any of these:

The first plugin seems to be for the APT processing of JDK 5 and the two others are real alternatives to apt-maven-plugin. In general there is confusion about JDK 5 APT and JDK 6 APT which are two different annotation processing APIs.

The README of this project is clear enough about what this plugin solves, and I haven't used the alternatives, so I don't feel comfortable mentioning/advertising them.
