addFont() function #15

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I want to use the addFont function for using and including the "Times New
Roman" font. But I saw
the function is private in the PDF-class. So I can't link this is file.

Is there a way to include a font the PDF I want to generate?

Hi edouard,

It's not supported for the moment. Font embedding will come in a next release :)

regards,

Thibault

Can you give an estimation how long it will take untill font embedding comes in
a release?

Hi,

I think the next release (middle-november) won't include font embedding.
But next one will. This is one of the features I really want to add. I think it
should be ready around december.

cheers ;)

Thibault

Thomas, as far as I know it is not supported by latest release nor latest
version
from trunk. I tested it about a week ago.

Hi thibault, I am also waiting for this feature. I have already spent quite a
bit of
time extending your classes for my own use and this is the missing piece in the
puzzle! I really need to be able to embed double byte language capable fonts -
I
have tried de-compiling the example (as I am desperate) you put up and looking
at
the source, but I am just getting lost in a maze of errors when I try to use
the
additional classes like EmbeddedFont etc. If the new release doesnt some soon,
then
I will definately have to move to a different library called ASP PDF, which I
would
definately prefer not to as AlivePDF is great!

Some indication of when the new release is coming would be greatly appreciated.

Keep up the good work!

Mike
