This PR updates the documentation for heat in the built environment. It includes:
new section Heat in the built environment (under Demand), outlining the housing/building stock categories and how demand and supply are matched
new section Insulation costs (under Costs), describing the costs calculation for housing/building stock based on the typical heat demand sliders;
fixed references to district heating networks in other pages;
updates the Dynamic electricity demand curves page with references to the current modeling of housing stock;
hides the For contributors/Fever page
Questions1) Are the heat demand curves for space heating in households in some way updated by the typical heat demand sliders?
The old documentation mentioned that insulation settings by users also updated the heat demand profiles:
Apparently there were sliders available to set the insulation level directly:
The input statement for the current typical heat demand sliders do not refer to the associated heat demand curve, but perhaps there is a link somewhere else?
2) Example for the Households merit order procedure?
The current description for the Households heat merit order procedure might be a bit cryptic for the uninitiated:
The merit order then works by assigning the first technology in the producer order to the first consumer in the consumer order (i.e. new apartments for households), then to the next consumer, and so on. This process continues until the specified share of residences for the first technology has been reached. The ETM then continues this process with the second technology in the producer order, until ultimately all housing/building stock is assigned a technology based on the specified technology shares.
