Future improvements node properties table #3556

Open marliekeverweij opened 3 years ago

Recently we have updated the node properties table, for details have a look at: https://github.com/quintel/etengine/pull/1149

While working on this table, we encountered more things to improve in the future which we couldn't pick up in this project. See the lists below, one for developers work and one for modellers! Please add if you have more ideas:

One issue that could be solved by showing two different nodes is the following:

When I open a new II3050 National governance scenario, the power-to-heat boiler for hybrid heating in the Paper industry is set to 410 MW of installed (heat output) capacity:

However, when I open the node property table the installed (electricity input) capacity is only 165 MW:

This is not related to any conversion losses, because the efficiency is 100%. It is because the hybrid heating slider affects two nodes: one p2h node for hydrogen and one p2h node for natural gas. Only the capacity for natural gas is shown.

Noticed by @Charlottevm the technical and financial properties of the Gas CCGT slider refers to "Timeframes in which this technology typically operates", which is meant for the flexibility section and not for power plants.
