No Cactbot type in drop down menu after update #379

When adding new overlay, there's no Cactbot option in the drop down menu to pick after updating to 0.9.3

This can happen if you've installed it in the wrong place or possibly if you didn't unblock the zip file.

Is the CactbotOverlay.dll inside the addons folder of your OverlayPlugin?

Same issue here on the latest version. Everything is unblocked and the dll is in addons, but it still doesn't show up in the types list. I'm on OverlayPlugin-0.3.4.0 x64.

Sorry to not have a good answer here. My suspicion is still that this is an install issue, as otherwise there'd be a lot more complaints from the 2k downloads. Do previous versions work ok if you try to revert back to them? Are there any errors in the plugin log?

Yeah you're right, it was a weird issue, but I fixed it by running this powershell script: Get-Childitem -r | unblock-file and then restarting my computer.

Thanks for the update. It really sounded suspiciously to me like something wasn't unblocked.

Curiously enough, unblocking the dlls alone didn't fix it. I gave up yesterday and when I booted up today it started working, so I assume it was the restart that did it.

i tried this unblock command thingy like 10 times now and restarted like 20 times and i cannot get it to work. No matter how many times i completly reinstall everything... there IS NO cactbot type in the dropdown. it is getting pretty frustrating at this point

You may want to try running the https://github.com/Luciusp/ffxiv-act-installer which will set up all the dependencies automatically.

I've had the same issue since I updated to 0.12.1 ngld. No sign of a single cactbot feature. (everything stopped working, as if disappeared)

Nothing but Mini parse - Spell timer - Label in the drop down.

ngld worked but visually as basic rainbowmage overlay.

0.12.2 this was unchanged.

with 0.13 now ngld doesn't work either

Plugin order: FFXIV plugin Overlay.dll Cactbot.dll

Before 0.12.1, I had cactbot in OverlayPlugin subfolder in ACT's folder, together with hibiya overlay. I deleted both and installed in my C:-etc User/Me folder. haven't un+reinstalled ACT yet. was hoping to avoid that but I guess I have to just to rule it out.

Maybe the recent latest ACT update messed up some of it's plugin friendliness?

Cactbot was loaded successfully (it shows in the overlay list). The Cactbot type was never in the ngld build. Just add the Cactbot overlays as MiniParse overlays (as the release notes and updated installation instructions explain).

Ohhh I see.

I noticed the correct load but thought it might be wrong or that I'd missed something since I hadn't figured how to make it work. + Was confused at parts of the guide on if I understood correctly I think.

I just needed to add the right URL's from the cactbot's " ui " subfolders / ngld's " Resources " folder, now everything works!

Me a derp all along. Figures lol
