Arabic font always changing back to default when refreshing page #468

Assalamualaikum. Whenever I change the Arabic font to another font eg. IndoPak, and then I go to another surah, or refresh the page, the font always changes back to King Fahd Quran Complex v1 no matter what. I have tried different browsers and even devices, and I still have the same issue. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Assalamualaikum

I just tested on Firefox, I tried few times and I couldn't replicate the issue the font stayed the same font I chose (I tested with IndoPak font).

One thing you can do is clear the cache and refresh the page. (on Firefox, you can press ctrl + shift + R to hard reload, erasing the cache and requesting a totally new version of the page. not sure about other browsers but they all have some way of doing it)

WaAlaikum as salam, @Yuniac. I tried your suggestion but the problem still persists. I have tried disabling my firewall and adblocker but those don't work either....

Maybe it could be a cookie issue, however only 3 cookies are stored on the website and making sure that they don't change (via extension) doesn't work as well. I am not sure why I am experiencing this problem.

interesting... i can reproduce:

  1. go to quran.com
  2. Choose Surah Al-Fatihah
  3. Choose Indopak
  4. Choose Surah Al-Baqarah --> the font is not indopak anymore
  5. now try to switch to indopak again, you find it chosen!

This is exactly my problem. However, I have sort of solved my issue temporarily until the developers can fix it.

What I did was download Redirector https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/redirector/ocgpenflpmgnfapjedencafcfakcekcd and then I created a macro which adds the following string of text: ?reading=false&translations=20%2C203&start=&font=indopak to the end of any url that begins with quran.com . So it turns quran.com/*surah number*/ into quran.com/*surah number*/?reading=false&translations=20%2C203&start=&font=indopak, which turns the font into indopak and adds sahih intl and Dr Muhsin Khan translation, which otherwise wouldn't be possible without the extension.

JazakAllah khair to anyone that helped
