hide white space on top/bottom of pages. #71

Each of the quran pages contains white space on top and bottom. on devices with smaller screens and in landscape mode, it may occupy about 1/2 of the screen. This a major annoyance. From what i understand, this app pulls quran pages from some other project. Given that, it may not be possible to remove white space easily. How ever i propose auto-scrolling every page by a few pixels, so that every time we turn pages, the white space is scrolled out of view.

P.S. Did you know that u get sawaab for every user who reads quran on this app :)

jazakAllah khair for reporting this (and for the suggestion for a fix) - if i may ask, what device and what are the dimensions of the screen? is this only the case in portrait mode or in landscape as well?

JazakAllah for the speedy reply. My device is micromax a60 andro a.k.a. ZTE Penguin. It is a budget android running 2.1. Screen dimensions are 240x320. Although the white space is present in portrait mode too, it is not very noticeable. In Landscape however its far more noticeable. Btw is this issue device specific?. Again thanks for ur response.

well as you know we scale the image to fit the screen width while maintaining its aspect ratio, that's why on some devices white space appears in the top and the bottom..

i want to try to generate some specific 240x320 images and see if they make a difference or make it better... let me get back to you on it insha'Allah.

brother, sorry for the really late reply - i've generated an apk that supports 320 images - if you send me a message on github with your email address, i can send it to you to test out insha'Allah. if it works well, we can release it. have also sent to someone else to test as well.

Assalam Alaikum, Very very sorry for the delay in replying ; i had not been able to lay my hands on a PC. I have been using the app for quite a while. It has been very nice. The wasted space is eliminated. However there is one minor glitch. Sometimes the right hand side space is very greatly reduced. Due to this, in landscape mode, the scroll bar overlaps some alphabets. Note that this happens on some pages only. Other than that it works nice. Thank you for all your trouble. May allah reward you. Assalam alaikum, Very Very Sorry for delay. Inspite of searching i did not manage to find a way to get a screenshot. Most of the shake-to-capture apps from the market didn't work for me. Maybe you can ingnore this issue if you think so. Wassalam
