Hi there,
There aren't any explicit limits to the number of rows or the number of columns
in a table. There are storage limits - 250 MB per user account, 1 million
characters per cell. And upload limits - 1 MB per spreadsheet, 100 MB per
.csv or KML.
What other numbers are you looking for?
Thanks,
-Rebecca

would the user account be extendable?
I am thinking about an application area where the ultimate joined master
table (joing say 4 other tables: country, school, space, child) could become
big...
say for 32 countries, for 5 schools per country, for 4 spaces per school,
for 30 children per space.....resulting for the total join in about 20000
rows and about 240 total parameters/columns (based on questionnairs, test,
checklists etc.) ie 4.6 M cells
maybe resulting in a masterdb of about 250MB...(?)
(I am comparing currently googleFT to CDC's EPI-Info tool for this job...)

There is not currently any way to extend the quota for a given user account.
Note that when a table is shared with you, it does not count against your
quota.
Please also note that once a merge table is created based on a given column,
additional tables merged with that one must use the same column as the key.

ok, then thsi is maybe a valid request! :)
I potentially miss a way to extent my quota!
to others (at least the master/joined one which si the big one)
minus (amount of tables minus one)

ok, that sounds like a valid request :-)
Changing the title to reflect it.

Is there an e.t.a. for purchasing more storage? I am starting a large project
and I want to use Fusion Tables for this project but it is going to be a lot
larger then 250mb.

If you have a Maps API Premier account, please discuss additional storage with
your contact there. I don't have an e.t.a. on consumer access to additional
storage, but I will update here when we have something new.

On a related note, it would be great if I could pay for additional storage with
credit from my AppEngine budget.
However, I certainly vote for whatever the quickest way is to get this
accomplished!

I have been trying to work with table containing 1.5 Million rows and I seem to
time out every time I try to aggregate or sum the dataset, is there a logical
limit to the table size I am missing? or away to set the request timeout to
longer?

I assume that if one has purchased additional paid storage from google, that
these size limits and quotas don't apply? Please confirm.

I spent a lot of time trying to debug why my insertions weren't working, and
stumbled upon the max dataset size as a possible cause. It would be great for
developers to actually have an indication of these limits and how close we're
getting so we don't waste our client's time while we scratch our heads
wondering why our scripts stopped working.

Fusion Tables storage is currently independent of "additional paid storage from
Google".
If you need different quotas and/or storage limits, please discuss with your
Maps API Premier contact.

Hi,
I also have the same issue with Google Fusion Table. I need to add a lot of
data which might exceed 25MB. Is there a way?
Also, how do I get to know the current size of my table?

Will this restriction be lifted now that fusion tables can be connect to a
Google Docs account?

Fusion Tables storage and limits are still separate from the Google Docs
storage and limits.
I will definitely update this topic when there's any new development.

I have butting up against the 400,000 limits in Google Spreadsheets on a few
projects and I would also like to request this functionality (more cells).

@timothy.s.lau
But this is not even a Google Spreadsheets issue tracker. Your request is
totally misplaced. It will most likely not be "heard" by anyone that can do
something about it. And is just noise for 43 people that starred this issue and
are interested in updates about Fusion table, not spreadsheets.

So I've been considering using fusion tables for my application. I'd like to
make sure that I understand the state of things:
- There is a 250mb limit, and other limits (rows/uploads/etc).
- There is no method to view your current size in relation to your limit.
- There is no clear method to pay money to increase your available size (I am not a maps user).
- This issue has been open for almost 2 years and there is still no resolution.
Is all of the above accurate? If not, please let me know?
If I'm going to consider using fusion for real development, I like to know that
I'm not going to bump into some magic limit which forces me abandon google
fusion.
Thanks,

Given this has been an issue the better part of 2 years, it makes one go
hmmmm...
Question:
Is google planning on addressing this issue with possible ways to get an

Please provide more space, or introduce a paid GFT Pro service for more space
quota allowance, just like Maps Engine Pro.

Bill -- that doesn't seem likely. Google has made it clear that this is a
deadend project based on the limitations they've placed on it, with zero
options for anyone to use this as a real tool. My crystal ball says Fusion
Tables will get mothballed in the next bit, as 3 years with zero progress on a
critical design defect clearly shows the inertia.
Original comment by ericjoha...@gmail.com
on 11 Nov 2013 at 8:15
There are no plans to shut down Fusion Tables. Can you expand on the critical
design defect you mention? Are you talking about the inability to purchase more
quota?
Original comment by rmcch...@google.com

Yes. Once you hit 250MB the product becomes a cloud-based paperweight.

We're reasonably happy about Fusion Tables which we've implemented in Harmony
our cloud application development platform. However
(1) we have a project coming up soon requiring 10's of millions of rows of data
to be stored (it's a Fraud detection application)
(2) We have a triple store implementation in Fusion Tables ... some applies to
the above .. for a large multinational we'd store 10,000's of employees with
all characteristics in Fusion table ...
So in both cases we require (much) more storage than the 250MB

If you are basing a commercial product on Fusion Tables, be aware that it's an
experimental product with no SLA or paid support, so that might not be the best
plan.
We increased the quota per account to 1GB a while back, but it's not likely
that we will support single tables larger than 250MB. So I agree with
BarryBHunter: the Google Cloud Platform is almost certainly a better choice for
your needs.
