Your project is going to be interesting. I think the data analysis part will be relatively straightforward.
The modelisation part will be a little more challenging but I think you can be done with the first part fast enough to focus on this during the second part of the semester.
For this week, come to class with a list of co-variates, response variables, and how you think you'll code them once you have your real data. We can work together on simulating them. You could use this as an exercise to determine how many observations you would need for your project depending on the strength of the effect.
