Allow lookup of definitions and morphology without displaying links #230

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Why is this feature needed?
Strongs/lemma and morph links clutter up the window; scholars who know the
biblical languages do not want such clutter.

What problem will it solve?
Window clutter.

Describe a typical usage of the feature:
Lookup of word definitions and parsings.

Are you aware of any programs that have this feature or a similar feature?
BibleTime

Yep, I've thought of doing that before, just haven't quite got around to it
yet. I'm looking at this now.

I've done an initial cut in r1390 which just does it on hover, but it needs
more work.

You are my hero. That is great to hear. Perhaps next week I will see about
testing and give you feedback.

Okay, r1392 includes a more polished form of this implementing click and hover
properly. I'll leave this open a while longer, but it could be resolved in this
state.

r1395 handles highlighting other occurrences of the active strongs number.
This involves highlighting the current strongs number in inline mode, which we
didn't do before.

I'll mark this issue as fixed. Feel free to add more to it if you want though.

From the screenshots you sent, it looks great. I tried to test this in Windows,
but I got an error message about wx.wc or something not being found (I forget
the specifics). I got xulrunner to work, etc., but I was not able to get past
that message. If it is an easy dependency issue, I can try again. But anyway,
thanks for jumping on this.
