Feature request: implementation of a more flexible mail option #269

I really like the option to send out emails to the maintainer of depend packages, if a new version might trigger issues. I suggest to use a more general option.

I really like the package blastula. It allows sending with gmail, but also with other providers. If it is okay, I would start working on implementation of the new functions.
