Hi @mhesselbarth -- this PR adds new example polygon vector data (irregular_areas) and a vignette describing how to calculate landscape metrics for irregular areas.
Please note that the vignette does NOT work yet -- as the sample_lsm() is not yet updated to work with sf objects.
That being said -- I think you could find it useful (especially the irregular_areas object) to test your new implementation.
