I'm using a theme that makes use of timthumb as well (Magnet by wpzoom) and I'm
running into the same issue. I also use NextGEN Gallery. I'm fairly illiterate
to
coding, so digging through the php file didn't really help me out. I have a
site due
to relauch tomorrow and I only just found out that this script wasn't written
by the
theme authors (which likely explains why they never replied to my request for
help).
Any assistance on this issue would be MOST helpful. I just need to find a way
to make
wp-content/gallery the default gallery.

Shadowpraxis,
Hi
I kept searching and found a way, simple to solve. (forgive my English I'm
using
google to translate)
The script itself can identify where the images are. It's just that the folder
where it is
installed (in my case: the theme folder / scripts /> folder and the internal
cache,
have Permissions to 777.
Now on the NextGenGallery. In the options there is a place where you can change
where the plugin saves the photos, instead of Gallery may be another folder.
And the new Wordpress 2.9.1 also has an option in your settings panel to modify
the
place where the files are sent (can be changed, for example the upload folder
for
album) without problems.
How do the pictures appear. Every time I put an image via NexGenGallery the
post,
click the image. Go to Settings tab and remove the image of the "class" which
both
existing markings.
I do not know why, but when you do that and save the post the script works
normally.
Any questions you can ask.

This isn't a TimThumb bug report. Issues with themes should go to the theme
developers. Sorry I can't help more
