when cache is writeble the CPU usage spikes and reach 100% #70

I have timthumb (version 1.12) installed on a cloud server with RHEL5. It
is called by a WP theme. If we leave the timthumb cache writeble, the CPU
soon reach 100% and the server slows or stops serving pages completely. If
we chmod 000 the cache, the CPU usage is < 40% and we have no problems with
the server (but pictures are created each time by the script).

Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks.

Hi - there has been quite a few optimizations over the last couple of months.
Please test the latest version and submit a new issue if there are still
problems (fingers crossed) :)

Thanks
