tool still supported / maintained? #498

Is this tool still being supported? If so we are having an issue, when a new output is defined inside of a subworkflow, the only way to register this output with the parent workflow is to remove the subworkflow from the parent, and re-add it, which means all inputs / outputs need to be reconnected each time a change is made. Is there a way around this issue?
