Canon currently has no guidance on how search results should be formatted when they are returned. Currently most searches do not give an indication of how the search changed the results (i.e. perhaps bolding where search terms match the items being searched)
This puts the search at risk for looking like it didn't do anything. (especially when the amount of search terms returned is so great that the length of the list doesn't change due to pagination/scroll/etc.)
