Build RPM for SLES? #148

Open seanorama opened 6 years ago

Since RPMs is being built for RHEL/CENTOS, any chance they could be built for SLES as well?

Hi @seanorama,

This is a great question, I'm not familiarized with the ways SLES distributes packages, pretty sure the spec file can be leveraged to get the package quite easily for SLES.

Let me ask around and see if there is any chance to get this package over there.

Thanks!

I'm the Fedora/EPEL package maintainer for recap. Everything related to that happens on Fedora infrastructure and isn't tied the to upstream development here on GitHub. Getting a package into OpenSUSE/SLES is an entirely different ecosystem that I have almost zero knowledge of. The one thing I do know is that while they use the RPM format, they have different macros defined, so most Fedora spec files will not cleanly rebuild without modification. Anyone familiar with the changes needed and the infrastructure available to build and host repos for that ecosystem is more than welcome to tackle that.

Leaving in here some links that might help with this, sorry there has not been any movement in that long :disappointed:
