I once cross-linked a lot of terms at one point. I removed them mid-way into the docs overhaul because:

1. They are hard to maintain with ever changing content (especially linking to headers).
2. There's no governing rule as to where, when, and/or how much content to cross-link.

What I found to be better was to word documentation correctly and make navigation simpler.

Cross-linking is fine, but the above case is something to think about. 😁
