The name COPYING was chosen just because of the transition to LGPLv3. GNU license recommends using COPYING name for the license and when I've renamed the file, to be honest, I was just experimenting with the GitHub's features. Speaking for myself I don't find much of a difference between the COPYING and LICENSE name but you are right that it might look more uniformed with LICENSE-THIRD-PARTY and therefore I have no objections to changing the name back to the LICENSE.
Reasons:
LICENSE-THIRD-PARTY
file, so having aLICENSE
file makes more sense in terms of uniformity.LICENSE
file in our other projects (e.g. RetDec itself uses aLICENSE
file).Unless there is a specific reason for having a
COPYING
file, like Radare2 requiring all plugins to have that file... If there is, please do let me know.
