Figure 5: The variation in the time taken for the DEM simulation of 2 mm particles as a function of number of cores.

Please use modified opening line as above.

The speed increase on increasing the number of cores from 1 to 16 was higher than the speed improvements observed from increase of cores from 16 to 256.

The above needs to be said better!!
The y-axis label refers to minutes. Is this correct. E.g., 3000 minutes --> 50 hours. Please confirm.

I did not understand your first point. Does it need to be changed or that statement is okay? I have modified the latter statement and yes the y-axis is in minutes.

consistency in use of "speed increase" and "speed improvements"
