CUs should check the return code during execution failure #174

Probably needs some discussion as to how we want to handle each/all/specific return codes for each of the kernels.

Old.This has been implemented in previous commits. There is no return code on failure. But the standard error is printed back to the user which would contain the application specific error codes/msgs.
