Refactor/lsf #753

This simplifies the LSF adaptor and gets it in sync with other adaptors wrt. state monitoring etc.

Thanks for the comments, @lee212 ! It seems the PR deteriorated quite a bit due to merges, I'll clean it up.

Thanks for the note! I just merged that commit into devel. Sorry for dropping the ball on this :-/ Please open a PR for anything you want to see merged, otherwise it's unfortunately likely to get delayed attention...
