Reminder for self to send upstream patches (aftermath of #369) where libgit2::git_reference_normalize_name disagrees with git-check-ref-format:

A refname consisting of a single @ should be rejected
A multi-segment refname with all-caps components should NOT be rejected (e.g. FOO/bar)

It is also infuriatingly unclear why

git_remote (supposedly) handles fetchpecs of a persistent remote correctly, but fails on refspec patterns passed to git_remote_push, git_remote_fetch, etc.
we can't set fetchspecs/pushspecs on an anonymous (in-memory) git_remote
