Consolidate how window positions and custom scale are managed - taking opertunites to refactor messy code. #83

I started to look at better handling of saved window positions, particularly when resizing the main window and the positions are automatically moved. However, once you start to consolidate some of the window properties then lots of opportunities emerge to simplify various bits of the client. This is mostly a re-factoring exercise.

This work is done and included in 1.9.6.0 release.
