Darkice compile fails on Ubuntu 9.04

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. configure with ./configure --with-lame
--with-vorbis-prefix=/usr/local/lib

2. make 

What is the expected output?

Expected successful compile

What do you see instead?

make ends with following error:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

darkice-0.19 on Ubuntu 9.04
