game categories on discussion pages stopped working with 8.5.9 #1504

Description After updating to 8.5.9 game categories are no longer shown on discussion pages.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to any discussion page with steam store links in it e.g. https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/CHMdI/

Expected Behavior Show game categories not only on giveaway pages but also on discussion pages

Console Errors nothing

System (please complete the following information):

Additional Context iirc it worked before I updated but after the change to discussions from cg but I'm not 100% sure about that. And my backup with an older version of ESGST isn't loading at all so I can't test it.

It's working fine for me, the setting is probably disabled for you, as there has been some changes in that area (#1497).

What happens when you try restoring the backup?

After enabling Enable for discussion tables it is working for me. Only one option for endless scrolling and the bookmark filter for giveaways were marked with a new tag so I haven't seen that there is also a new option for game categories. Closed.

It's actually an old option that went away with the paths system. But now that the paths system is gone, it came back. That's why it didn't show as new. It should have been automatically enabled for you, but probably a bug.
