On this page you can see that some of the games have trading cards but they don't have in fact. None of them has trading cards.

Yes, they do, I just checked all of them on Steam.

gizellos commented 6 years ago

No they don't have. I bought the bundle, activated them and there are no games for farming cards. :(

rafaelgomesxyz commented 6 years ago

Steam shows trading cards for them on their store page, you can check. If they don't actually have them, that is not my problem, that is Steam's problem.

If so many games on steam have incorrect indicator for cards, then it is a very unreliable service for providing the data.

From 13 games that are supposed to have cards 13 games doesn't have them, it's accuracy in the budle is 0 %. It's quite a tragedy.

Much more reliable is www.steamcardexchange.net. I am just not sure if it has an API. Can you use it instead of it? Or another better source?

rafaelgomesxyz commented 6 years ago

Even if it had an API it probably wouldn't be able to handle the huge amount of requests. Steam already doesn't.

Are you sure those games don't have trading cards? They only drop after playing the game for some time, don't they? Or maybe the cards are coming? Check the forums of those games to see if there's any info about it. If they don't, then this is something that should be seriously reported to Steam. There's nothing I can do.

Yes, I am 100 % sure about it. ASF doesn't detect them, they are not on the steamcardexchange page, enhanced steam doesn't detect them and people often complain about it on the community hubs.

I think it is because of this steam news.

The games will have cards if people really play the games. So the Steam API doesn't say that the games drop cards but that they will drop cards if the steam algorithm approve it. And because most of the problematic games are (probably) just asset flippers and no one will play them, they will never drop the cards.

Like I said, there's nothing I can do. Using Steam Card Exchange would be really bad and they might eventually block requests from my script because of the huge amount of requests that would be required.

You'll just have to double check on those games before buying them, which should be very easy, since the Trading Cards category already links to Steam Card Exchange.
