Bug (Audio): Mysterious audio issues o_0 #47

Please don't chastise me or reprimand me for asking this, but, before I go on,
just wanted to say that this emulator kicks the crap out of beta 1! To actually
be able to play Chrono Cross, Breath of Fire 3, Megaman X4-X6 on a wii at full
speed with stereo sound is just, how do I put it, miraculous! Keep up the good
work! Now, maybe I'm experiencing some kind of ID10T or PEBKAC thing, but I
noticed that some of the games I tried are missing reverb effects. Also, I
noted the absence of interpolation and SPUAsync. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm
not here to criticize in any way whatsoever, I'm just curious. Am I doing
something wrong in the configuration?

Info:

WiiSX beta 2, Wii System Menu 4.1U

SPUAsync, Interpolation and Reverb are not currently implemented. We went with
a simple PEOPSSpu plugin modification (FranSPU) for the time being but we'll
later on implement the full sound plugin.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Please don't get the wrong idea;
I'm not upset or annoyed at all XD. Keep up to good work!

@emukidid

Is this issue related to Final Fantasy VII (in dynarec mode, using official
BIOS) having different sound effects than on a real Playstation console?

(what I mean is that the sounds effects before going into the 1st battle are
in-correct)

What I meant is that the sound plugin has no synchronization whatsoever. It's
also missing reverb (the echo effects in the music) and also missing Gaussian
interpolation (to make the sound less "raspy"). All of these will be eventually
implemented. Switching the BIOS mode from SD to HLE and/or switching the core
to Dynarec/Interpreter won't make any difference in sound. Right now, WiiSX
just has pretty basic stereo sound. Here's a file showing what I'm talking
about (if you have the program Audacity, you can really tell a difference after
opening the file):
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b297730/n/FFVII_sounds_sync_and_desync_.mp3
The first half display what the sound should be like, the other half is what
WiiSX sounds like (more or less)and needs to be fixed (which it will).
